The Tecaxic-Calixtlahuaca head is a terracotta head, probably originally part of a larger figurine, discovered in 1933 among pre-Columbian grave goods in the Tecaxic-Calixtlahuaca zone in the Toluca Valley, approximately 65 kilometers west of Mexico City. Wagner in the FS Archaeömetrie unit in Heidelberg, Germany, established its age limits between the 9th century B. The Starchild skull is an abnormal human-like skull which was found in Mexico.Because of the head’s non-Amerind facial features, including a beard, and its unusual style, some believe that it is of Roman origin, and thus evidence of pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contact. Its origin and nature are contested by scientists and paranormal enthusiasts.Thermoluminescence (TL) has traditionally been used to estimate the depth of trapping centers in luminescence materials and explain the isothermal decay in the case of synthetic dosimeters and natural materials used in luminescence dating.Nevertheless, new fields of application of TL and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) materials, namely particle temperature sensing and thermochronometry, motivate a need for accurate models for the luminescence processes and estimation of the trapping parameters, in particular activation energy and frequency factor. The Opera Nova Conference Centre is 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. In the summer, the hotel offers an outdoor terrace.
Fundamental challenges are the very wide timescales involved in these applications, the need for better TL models, and the inherent time-temperature ambiguity in the Arrhenius equation, in addition to other practical problems.
Europhysical conferences (EURODIM) take place every four years and are alternated with International conferences (ICDIM). The scope of the Conference is the presentation of the latest investigations on point and extended defects in bulk materials, thin films and nano-structures.
The 2018 Europhysical Conference on Defects in Insulating Materials (EURODIM 2018) will be held at the University of Bydgoszcz, Poland, from 8-13 July 2018. Technological applications will be presented together with fundamental investigations and theories.
An out-of-place artefact is an object that exists in a place in which it is impossible for it to exist.
OOPArts are often of interest to creationists and others who seek evidence that may refute the theory of evolution; they are also used to support religious descriptions of pre-history, ancient astronaut theories, or the notion of vanished civilizations that possessed knowledge or technology more advanced than our own.
However, the volume of the interior of the starchild skull is 1600 cubic centimeters, which is 200 cm3 larger than the average adult’s brain, and 400 cm3 larger than an adult of the same approximate size.
